Who We Are

Dorris-Mic International Co. Ltd. (DMI), established in 1987, is a family-owned cable assembly and wiring harness manufacturer, located in a suburb city one-hour-drive away from Taipei in northern Taiwan. Founded and led by the legendary pioneer in power cord industry of Taiwan, Mr. Michael L. K. Chang (who is not only one of the founders and the former Sales Manager of Exito Electrics Co., Ltd. but also the retired Vice President and a current board member of the world-renowned YFC-BonEagle Electric Co. Ltd.), DMI was set up with a clear mission: TO MEET ALL KINDS OF UNIQUE CUSTOMIZED SPECS AND REQUESTS WORLD-WIDE, HOWEVER RARE AND HOWEVER SMALL-SCALED IN PRODUCTION. Under this guideline, DMI started its business with a Haiti-based German company as the first customer, successfully fulfilling customer’s demands and solving the troublesome packing issues. From the very beginning, DMI has been striving to do the best not only in manufacturing but also in service. For over 35 years, DMI has been working with the same spirit with no change. As a side note, Mr. Michael Chang brought that same spirit to YFC-BonEagle later. With the famous slogan “We can sell cables as short as 1-ft long!” he promoted the LAN cable business in 1995 and turned it into an all-time success. In 1998 Mr. Michael Chang’s son, Mr. Robert H. T. Chang, who at the time just finished his military duty at the Marines, joined DMI. Mr. Robert Chang observed and learned closely from his father over the years. In 2010 DMI saw a shift in leadership from Mr. Michael Chang to Mr. Robert Chang. On the solid foundation laid by his father, Mr. Robert Chang has taken a few steps further to grow the business. While maintaining good relationships with long-term part (e.g. terminals) vendors, he has searched for more suppliers with whom he has developed new businesses-- this ensures that DMI will always have firm resources of quality supplies necessary for production. Moreover, Mr. Robert Chang has modernized DMI’s manufacturing facility in early 2023, so that DMI has the capacity of production in larger volumes and better control of quality and of delivery. In the meantime, DMI is applying for C/UL certificate to take the business to another level. TRADITION, INNOVATION AND COOPERATION are the three major beliefs of DMI. These beliefs will always remain in DMI and guide DMI.
